The Farmers

Leslie

Flowers often speak when words fail us. I’m not known to be short of words but sometimes, more often than not, flowers say it better.

I was a young teenager when I was first introduced to caring for plants. I worked at Frank’s Nursery & Crafts for 6 years. I learned to care for houseplants, flowers, outdoor plants, dried flowers, and many craft supplies. This job provided me a great opportunity to learn how to look past myself and observe my plants and learn what they needed to thrive.

I have not been able to contain this desire to “nurture” ever since! The evidence of this is my 6 children, various farm animals, too-many cats, and a farm! Our flowers, chickens, and veggies are grown with 100% love and attention.

It is my hope that our farm is a blessing to you.

I was a true country boy living in a very small rural town overlooking Marsh Creek Lake. I grew up exploring the outdoors and playing on the water of the lake. I was pretty young when I had my first job with a paper route. I rode my bike through rain and snow! After a few years of that I decided to join the boat rental team at Marsh Creek…which led me to windsurfing in all my free time! As I got into high school my hobby turned towards mountain biking. Apparently, movement and speed were my lifeline!! After college I decided on a sales career that allowed me the flexibility to foster relationships with my customers and the ability to be on the move. This was essential to me because it enabled me to run my business with the customer in mind.

I’ve been in the corporate world for more than 20 years. In 2022 I was finally ready to leave my suit in the closet! I have a new full time job that allows me to pursue working alongside Leslie to make this family business dream come to life. It is not easy and it makes for some pretty long days but it’s so worth it to me.
